It is reported that Mr. CD Wickramaratne was given another three months service extension to perform the duties of the Inspector General of Police and the recommendation of the President has been forwarded to the Constitutional Council for approval.
Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena has stated that the President’s Secretary forwarded the relevant recommendation to him yesterday (10).
Accordingly, the Speaker has further mentioned that attention will be paid to this matter in the Constitutional Assembly which will meet next week.
