The Wanataviluwa Police have stated that investigations have been started to arrest the father and brother of a 16-year-old girl who allegedly molested her from time to time.
The mother of the girl, who was reportedly molested, died when she was a child, after which she lived with her father and brother. The molested girl has stated to the police that her father and brother raped her on a day before the Sinhala New Year in April 2023, and since that day they have repeatedly raped her.
The girl who was molested was a resident of Eluwankulama, Ailiya village and it is said that the father who allegedly molested the girl is 53 years old and her brother is 14 years old.
The girl, who is said to have been molested, has been admitted to the Puttalam Base Hospital for a medical examination and Vanathavilluwa Police is conducting further investigations.
