It is reported that a person who tried to escape after giving a parcel of drugs to an inmate in the Turtle Magistrate’s Court cell was arrested.
When the Acting Magistrate of Kasbewa Court adjourned the proceedings for the day break, a police officer who was on duty noticed that the suspect was sitting on the bench in front of the cell and was delivering a small parcel to the cell. When the suspect came near, he tried to run away.
But the police officer has managed to arrest this suspect.
The concerned suspect is a 33-year-old resident of Vaskaduwa, Kalutara.
