It is reported that the Special Crime Investigation Unit of Matale has arrested a police sergeant who cheated money by saying that he would give a plate of antique value.
A police sergeant attached to Velambada police has been arrested.
It is said that this sergeant has cheated 25 lakhs by giving this plate to a person who claims to have antique value.
The police further reveal that a woman and a man involved in this scam have also been arrested and produced before the court.
