It is reported that the Kegalle Avissawella road has been restricted for the annual Esala Perahera of the Rajamaha Pattini Temple in Kabulumulla.
The annual procession near the Rajamaha Pattini temple in Kabulumulla is scheduled to start from near the temple tonight (05) and go on the Kegalle Avissawella road to the Vandala temple. Therefore, people will come to watch the procession from 09.00 tonight (05) to 03.00 tomorrow morning (06). It is said that due to the people and vehicles traveling on the road on a daily basis, the Kegalle Avissawella road is likely to be blocked, so the police are requesting the public and drivers to use alternative routes during that time.
Alternative routes that can be used
It is reported that vehicles coming from Avissawella towards Kegalle can travel from Talduwa Junction to Kegalle on the Medagoda road from Ruwanwella to Kegalle, and vehicles traveling from Colombo towards Hatton can travel from Talduwa Junction on Medagoda Road via Ruwanwella, Panapitiya, Parussella to Yatianthota to Hatton.
