Due to the dry weather that has affected the upland areas these days, hydropower generation in the Victoria Reservoir has been limited to a large extent.
It is reported that the water level in the reservoir has dropped to 35% and the engineer in charge of it Mr. Wasantha Ehelapitiya said.
But Mr. Ehelapitiya has further mentioned that electricity production of about one gigawatt hour is done only during the night rush hours.
