WE MUST END THE ERA OF VOTING FOR HALF A BOTTLE OF LIQUOR

His Eminence Archbishop Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith has said that everyone should be active towards a new leadership that loves the country by rejecting the traditional political parties.

According to reports, the Signese Cinema Awards organized by the International Catholic Journalism Service was held in a grand manner at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall in Colombo last night (26) and he said this while participating in it.

“It is clear that the government presented this bill to limit the right of the people to express their opinions and find the truth in a dictatorial way, claiming to regulate the social media. It is the duty of the nationalistic and pro-people media to defeat such efforts to lead the country to totalitarianism. The time has come to reject the ruling traditional political parties. The time is at hand to create a new revival in the country by eradicating politics, nepotism and parochialism. We must end the era of voting for an asbestos plate, 5,000 rupees or half a bottle of liquor for rice. Instead, we should all work towards a new leadership that loves the country and take our country to a new liberation.”
