The family members of Lakpriyantha Kumara, who was brutally murdered in Pakistan, were given a financial gift at a ceremony held at the Ministry of External Affairs today (15).
The award was presented by the Minister of External Affairs, GL Peiris to Mr. Priyantha Kumara’s wife and two children.
The Minister has also stated that discussions are being held with the Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation to ensure the future of the children and the safety of the family.
The Minister said that the business community in Sealkot had also agreed to provide US $ 100,000 to Mr. Priyantha Kumara’s family and requested the Government of Pakistan to provide timely compensation and other financial benefits to Mr. Priyantha Kumara’s employer and the Government of Pakistan. .
