Focus on restricting the recruitment of public servants

Focus on restricting the recruitment of public servants.
A letter has been sent to the Commissioner General of Essential Services, Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial and Local Government requesting them to restrict the summoning of public officers to their offices due to the shortage of resources.

Accordingly, the Commissioner General of Essential Services KDS Ruwan Chandra has requested that public officers be called to duty only for essential services.

We also request that at the discretion of the Head of the Establishment, calls be made to the service only for essential functions so as not to interfere with office activities. The Commissioner General of Essential Services has also informed the Secretary to the Ministry that it is appropriate to delegate the necessary powers to the Heads of Institutions to temporarily attach officers who report for duty from a distance to a place of work close to their place of residence.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner General of Lacey Essential Services further points out that steps will be taken to reduce the use of electricity, water and fuel by restricting the number of people working in large areas of work and using the limited space in their office.
