The Fort Magistrate has imposed a travel ban on 17 persons including former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The Fort Magistrate issued the order after hearing a petition filed by the aggrieved parties and the Bar Association of Sri Lanka regarding the attack on Gota Gogagama and Mainagogama in Colombo on the 9th.
Others who imposed the travel ban were former ministers Johnston Fernando, Pavithra Wanniarachchi, Rohitha Abeygunawardena, CB Ratnayake, Namal Rajapaksa and Sanath Nishantha. In addition, DIG Deshabandu Tennakoon in charge of the Western Province has also been banned from traveling abroad.
