FUEL PRICES GO UP

Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal has instructed Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa to increase fuel prices expeditiously.

The Governor of the Central Bank has informed in writing that the letter further states that if Sri Lanka uses dollars to import fuel in the face of the current economic crisis, the country will be in further crisis without foreign exchange.

Therefore, the Governor of the Central Bank Ajith Nivard Cabraal has pointed out that the price of petrol should be increased by Rs. 35.00, diesel by Rs. 24.00 and kerosene by Rs. 11.00.
