The circular issued restricting the recruitment of government officials for public service offices has been further extended.
The Ministry took this decision from last June 20, taking into account the difficulties faced by government officials in reporting to work.
A circular document has been issued today to the Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, Mr. M. P. K. Mayadunne, Ministry Secretaries, Provincial Chief Secretaries and Heads of Departments, so that the circular will be valid for the next month.
The Ministry Secretary further stated that these circular provisions do not prevent the summoning of staff for duties that cannot be performed online and for maintaining essential public services.
