GAS ISSUE TO HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION

Several social activists, including the Sri Lanka Young Journalists Association, have lodged a complaint with the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) seeking an inquiry into the negligence of government agencies over the issue of domestic gas cylinders.

Accordingly, the Director General of the Sri Lanka Standards Institution, the Director General of the Consumer Affairs Authority and the Secretary to the State Ministry of Consumer Protection have been summoned to appear before the Human Rights Commission.

The complaint was filed requesting to note the packaging date and contents of the gas cylinders as well as other items.
