The relevant gazette notification has been issued to extend the retirement period of public servants up to the age of 65 years.
The relevant gazette notification has been issued by Janaka Bandara Tennakoon, Minister of Public Service, Provincial Councils and Local Government.
According to this year’s budget, the government has decided to extend the retirement period of public servants to 65 years.
Accordingly, the new gazette notification states that any public servant can retire after the age of 55 and must retire after the age of 65.
