Health authorities have embezzled Rs. 417 million.

Yesterday (02) one of the main topics that people in Sri Lanka focused on was a computer system for managing medical supplies. It was stated that nearly Rs. 7000 lakhs have been spent to set up the system so far and another Rs. 60 million per year has to be paid for the computer manufacturing company called EVIS.

The CEO of eVis held a press conference today and made a special revelation that he had not received such a sum of Rs. Was made.

According to his statement he has obtained Rs. 2123 lakhs. The Medical Supplies Management Institute states that they have paid Rs. 6444 lakhs. So what happened to the remaining 4170 lakhs? The said annual payment of Rs. 60 million is due from 2015. To whom has the money been paid for nearly 5 years?
