It is reported that 5 officials including the Director General of Health Services have been on a foreign tour since the 20th while the people are suffering without essential medicines and essential items including food.
A few weeks ago, the Ministry of Finance issued a special circular canceling foreign tours and foreign training programs for all public servants.
According to the information we have received, the new Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has requested a list of drugs and medical equipment in short supply to the Ministry of Health. That too has not yet been given, and they have thus far traveled as far as Geneva. The luxury section of the plane on which they flew has also been booked with government funds. It is also reported that the Ministry has approved the funds required to bring goods up to 40 kg per person.
However, they are traveling to attend the World Health Organization’s 75th Anniversary Conference. However, experts in the health service point out that the participation of one official is sufficient.
Dr. Asela Gunawardena, Director General of Health Services, Dr. S. Sri Dharan, Deputy Director General of Health Services, Dr. LC Somatunga, Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Health and SS Dolamulla, Additional Secretary were also present.
The fact that the health service authorities are working for their own selfish ends, except for the death of the people of the country, shows that the majority of those in high positions in the country are of no use in Sri Lanka and that it is the selfish officials in high positions who are carrying out the destruction of the country.
