IT HAS DECIDED TO CONTINUE HEARING THE PETITIONS AGAINST RANIL AND MAITHRI WHO DID NOT STOP THE EASTER ATTACK.

The hearing of petitions against former President Maithripala Sirisena, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, former IGP and Defense Secretary and others responsible for failing to prevent a series of suicide bombings on Easter Sunday is due to be heard daily from today (7).

The seven-member bench of the Supreme Court, which met yesterday (June 6), decided to hear all the petitions filed by Archbishop (Cardinal) Malcolm Ranjin and other clergy.

The petition was filed by Shamil Perera, PC, appearing for Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith.

Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya, Justice Buwaneka Aluvihare, Justice N.B. Murdu Fernando, Judge LTTE Dehideniya, Judge Shiran Gunaratne, Judge AHMD Nawaz and Judge S. The petition will be heard before a bench of Justices Thurairajah.

However, Parliament appointed a special select committee to look into the matter. But all the details of the revelations were not made public. Also, the protection of the people of the country is the responsibility of any government and public officials must act on behalf of the government. It is no secret that government officials have failed to properly deal with the Easter attack.
