The Department of Meteorology stated that today (27th) there may be occasional rains in Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces and Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.
The department also points out that heavy rainfall exceeding 75 mm may occur in Sabaragamuwa province, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.
Rain or thundershowers will occur at some places in the rest of the island during this evening or night.
Also in Uva province and Ampara and Batticaloa districts, mm. The department also mentions that there is a possibility of heavy rains around 75.
The Department of Meteorology urges the people to take necessary measures to minimize the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
