The Department of Meteorology states that rain conditions will occur from time to time in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Kurunegala, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts today (23).
The department also mentions that some places in Sabaragamuwa province and Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts can expect about 50 mm of rain.
Also, there will be rain or thundershowers at a few places in the districts of Ampara and Batticaloa in Uva province in the evening or at night.
Meanwhile, in the western slopes of the central mountains, in the northern and north-central provinces, in the districts of Trincomalee and Hambantota, strong wind conditions of around 50 kmph may occur from time to time, the statement issued by the department has also stated.
Meanwhile, the Department of Meteorology is requesting the people to take necessary measures to reduce the dangers caused by temporary strong winds and lightning that may occur with thunderstorms.
