Kanchana is in a tough decision

Mr. Kanchana Wijesekera, the Minister of Power and Energy, stated that the restructuring of the Petroleum Corporation and the Electricity Board will not be challenged, but the restructuring will be done even if there is a protest.
The Minister has also pointed out that petroleum trade unions affiliated to all political parties have protested the related plans.
The minister has further mentioned that he met with all the trade unions and discussed the related program and explained the importance of it.
However, the minister also states that the petroleum unions have organized a protest march against the proposed reforms tomorrow (22).
The minister emphasizes that he does not challenge their right to protest, but that both the petroleum and electricity sectors should be restructured and the necessary activities will be continued.
