The first death due to a gas explosion was reported from the Kandy area.
The 51 year old housewife of the house was admitted to the Kandy Hospital with serious burn injuries.
She died at Ward 12 of the Kandy National Hospital last night (11) while receiving treatment for 10 days, police said.
The blast took place at No. 177/77, Nattarampokuna, Kundasale and they were living in a rented house.
