A person has been arrested in the Malawa area in Kuruwita for attempting to sell a stock of counterfeit coins.
The suspect is a 19 year old resident of Avissawella.
According to information received by the Kuruwita Police, the youth had attempted to sell the counterfeit coins for Rs. 6 million.
The suspect was produced before the Ratnapura Magistrate’s Court today (19) in possession of 960 coins weighing 2 kilograms.
