The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) Association of Electrical Engineers says that the Norochcholai Coal Power Plant is at risk of malfunctioning due to non-maintenance. They state that the reason for this is the shortage of spare parts.
The second and third generators of the plant have not undergone annual maintenance for about two years and are expected to be completed next month due to a shortage of spare parts, they said.
They also say that in the face of the foreign exchange crisis, it has not been possible to open letters of credit for the purchase of spare parts worth US $ 43 million.
Even the electricity mafias of the Electricity Board of Sri Lanka, which created an all-foreign dependent country, continue to be reported and the monthly salaries of CEB employees are also enormous.
