Homeless people are a common sight in Colombo.
Around 600 people who were living in such a helpless state without any help had gathered at 24 police stations, cleaned them, decorated them with new clothes and provided them with milk rice for food.
Often on social media as well as in our society, our view of police officers is as a group that allows injustice to be done by the law.
Although it is the actions of the majority of police officers that have caused it, it should be appreciated that such humanitarian actions are seen.
These screenshots show us that the majority of corrupt officers have such humane hearts as police officers who work to curb corrupt practices in a society that strives to do its job properly.
As the lyric reads, “Gods and goddesses are among the wild beasts of the field.”
The trust and respect of the police officer in the minds of the people will be lost due to the coming to power of such foolish officers who carry out such acts.
However, we must learn to appreciate what is good and to speak out against what is bad.
We wholeheartedly appreciate this good deed done for such helpless people and wish that there is a division of police officers with such valuable hearts who uphold the rule of law and stand up for injustice!
