President Mahinda Rajapaksa has instructed the leaders of the power and energy sectors to find a solution to the current power crisis without compromising the lives of the people.
The President has stated this at a discussion held at the Presidential Secretariat with the leaders of the power and energy sectors this morning (10).
Relevant officials have pointed out that this situation has arisen due to problems in generating electricity using coal and fossil fuels.
The officials further stated that it is sufficient to manage Sri Lanka’s coal reserves without allowing a power crisis and that a power cut can be avoided by managing fuel-generated electricity.
