Presidential pardon for 197 prisoners tomorrow

A group of prisoners will receive a general amnesty on the occasion of the 74th Independence Day celebrations tomorrow (04), the Prisons Headquarters said.
Accordingly, 197 prisoners have been granted amnesty.
20 inmates of Mahara Prison, 18 inmates of Kegalle Prison, 17 inmates of Welikada Prison, 13 inmates of Kalutara Prison, 11 inmates of Bogambara Prison, 11 inmates of Batticaloa Prison and 10 inmates of Wariyapola Prison are due to be released tomorrow.
