REMOVE RESTRICTIONS ON IMPORTS OF GOODS – EU

The European Union (EU) has called on the Sri Lankan government to lift restrictions on imports.

The Sri Lankan government took steps last September to impose a temporary ban on non-essential commodities in the wake of the global epidemic.

The union said many European products were barred from entering the market due to the ban.

The request was made at a recent joint commission meeting between representatives of the European Union and the Government of Sri Lanka.
