The Malaria Eradication Campaign has warned that there is a risk of malaria spreading through people coming to Sri Lanka from African countries.
This year, 25 malaria patients have been identified in Sri Lanka and 24 of them are from African countries, said Dr. Prasad Ranaweera, Director of the Malaria Eradication Campaign.
Therefore, Dr. Prasad Ranaweera, a specialist, points out that it has been decided to conduct malaria testing for people coming to this country from African countries.
He further stated that the two malaria patients identified during this month have been identified from the Jaffna district and there is a risk of malaria in the Jaffna district.
