Mr. Sajith Premadasa, the leader of the opposition, said that he would not support an all-party government for the purpose of gaining advantages.
But he has indicated that he will unconditionally support the program to recover the country from its fallen state.
Mr. Sajith Premadasa made these comments in a meeting with a group of representatives of women’s organizations at the opposition leader’s office.
“The system is not a change. It is the further implementation of the existing rotten system. We are not ready for ministers to take bounties and put the burden of taxes on the shoulders of the people. The money that goes to the maintenance of every minister can be used to keep the children of this country alive. Samagi Jana wants to make it very clear. Balawegaya and Samagi Jana Sandansha, all the progressive groups in the parliament, strongly reject the proposal of the minister to get privileges. However, we hope to add positive support to the joint national program that builds the country through the committees in the parliament.
