Samurdhi allowance increased by 28% ….. Vote is near!

The government has decided to increase the Samurdhi allowance for Samurdhi beneficiaries by 20%.
Minister of State Shehan Semasinghe has stated that the Samurdhi benefits will be increased with effect from tomorrow (14).
Accordingly, with this increase, the government expects to spend Rs. 65,000 million by 2022 to provide allowances to all Samurdhi beneficiaries, the Minister added.
