SATHOSA RICE PRICES DOWN

The Minister of Trade Bandula Gunawardena states that steps have been taken to reduce the price of a kilo of imported samba sold through the CWE by Rs. 02.00.
Accordingly, a kilo of imported samba which was sold for Rs. 130.00 will be sold for Rs. 128.00 with effect from today (29).
The Minister of Trade stated that 10 kilos of imported samba can be obtained by the public through CWE outlets.
These comments were made during an inspection tour of the wholesale outlets in Pettah this morning (29) to find out the wholesale prices of rice.
