SERGIO MATERELLA RE-ELECTED PRESIDENT OF ITALY

Italian President Sergio Materella has been elected for a second term.
He was re-elected with 759 votes in the parliamentary elections held to elect the President.
The parliamentary election to elect a new President was held over six days in eight phases.
Candidates must win 505 votes to win this election, and in the final round of voting, more than a thousand lawmakers and local representatives voted in favor of electing a president.
Incumbent President Sergio Materela has won the election with 759 votes.
