SIGNS OF COMPENSATION FOR CROP DAMAGE

Speaking at a media briefing in Kandy, Agriculture Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage had stated that a decision would be taken at this week’s Cabinet meeting to pay compensation for crop damage.
The Minister further stated that steps will be taken to import 100,000 metric tons of rice to meet the current shortage of rice and that all problems that arose during the supply of fertilizer this year will be properly addressed during the Yala season.
