SRI LANKA LEADS THE ASIAN REGION

Sri Lanka has been named by the World Tourism Council as the safest country to visit in the Asian region in the face of the global Kovid-19 epidemic, says Chairperson of the Tourism Development Authority Kimali Fernando.
The number of tourists who arrived in the country during the 11 days of the New Year with the opening of the country to foreigners is stated as 31,688.
However, the past three months have seen a sharp increase in tourist arrivals in the country.
Accordingly, 22,771 tourists arrived in Sri Lanka in October, 44,294 in November and 89,506 in December.
