According to the Police Headquarters, 1708 persons have been arrested in connection with the May 9 incident.
However, no arrests have been made so far in connection with the incident. But according to the law, they should all be arrested. Violent mobs across the country have also resorted to attacking troubled and peaceful people in the country.
Of those arrested, 751 are still in jail and about 900 have been released. Also, people are being arrested from time to time.
But lawyers are preparing to take legal action against police officers who have arrested people from various areas for failing to arrest the perpetrators of the violence.
