THE ATTORNEY GENERAL IS TO BE CONSULTED ON THE SUMMONS OF THE CHINESE COMPANY

The Attorney General’s advice is to be sought regarding the summons issued by the company that owns the Chinese fertilizer ship.

The company had recently filed a writ petition against the Additional Director of the National Plant Quarantine Service seeking US $ 8 million in compensation.

The relevant summons was received by the Additional Director of the National Plant Quarantine Service on the 9th and the vaccine has been referred to the Attorney General for further action.

According to an investigation carried out by the National Plant Quarantine Service, the fertilizer stock has been found to contain harmful bacteria and the government has refused to accept the stock.

However, it is reported that the ship carrying the fertilizer is already anchored in Sri Lankan waters.
