A 13-year-old child has been arrested for trying to steal money by jumping into a shop in Namalwa area, Bandaragama.
The concerned suspect child jumped into the store and attacked the owner of the store with a knife and tried to steal it, she prevented it.
It is reported that the suspect child ran away and was arrested by the police.
The 33-year-old woman who was attacked sustained injuries on her abdomen and right arm.
She has mentioned to the police that the concerned suspect had tried to rob the store several times before.
The police said that the concerned child was handed over to his parents after recording his statement.
