The latest fare scheme for bus passengers.
Transport Minister Dilum Amunugama says that if bus workers do not work responsibly, a new bus fare system will have to be introduced in the future.
He said that despite the notice to enforce the seating law, it appears that in many non-urban rural areas the seizure law is being violated.
He said that even though a reasonable price increase was given out of sympathy for the bus workers and the situation prevailing in the country, a standing fare would have to be imposed on passengers in the future due to the violation of the relevant conditions.
