According to the Minister of Finance Basil Rajapaksa, the most important proposal in this budget is the Rural Development Program.
Accordingly, Rs. 3 Mn. Will be allocated for each of the 14,021 Grama Niladhari Divisions in the country without any distinction.
There are 4,917 divisions in the country which are the smallest local government unit in the country and Rs. 04 million will be provided for each of these divisions, the Minister of Finance said.
Accordingly, for the year 2022, each Member of Parliament will receive Rs. 15 million and Rs. 3,375 billion as development financial allocations.
