THE TRAIN STRIKE HAS BEEN SUSPENDED

The Railway Station Masters’ Association has decided to suspend the train strike which was scheduled to commence from midnight today (26) until 10.00 am tomorrow (27).
The President of the union Sumedha Somaratne states that the final decision regarding the strike will be taken after the discussion to be held tomorrow (27).
The president of the union Sumedha Somaratne stated that if their demands are not met with a positive response, they will continue their strike.
If they could not be given promotions as per their demands, they made 10 demands including giving a cover allowance instead, calculating the overtime of the train drivers themselves as well as calculating overtime.
