The Navy has seized more than 15 billion rupees worth of narcotics during operations conducted in the year 2021.
According to the Navy, the drugs were seized during raids conducted in Sri Lankan waters as well as international waters along with other intelligence units.
Accordingly, 141 suspects, including foreigners, were arrested with more than 1,268 kilograms of heroin during the operation.
The Navy said that the total number of suspects arrested in the year 2021 was 327 and that a total of 7,095 kilograms of cannabis, 158 kilograms of ice and 88 kilograms of hashish were seized during the raids.
