The body of a youth was found in Castlereagh Reservoir this afternoon (17).
According to the Norwood Police, the victim was identified as Sarath Kumaran, 20, a resident of the upper part of Norwood Estate.
He had disappeared from the house the previous day and his body was later found in Castlereagh Reservoir.
Police are investigating a tip-off that Norwood police found a group of bathers in the Newville Estate area of Castlereagh Reservoir with an unmarked cell phone and a pair of shoes near the reservoir.
After the relatives of the youth identified the mobile phone and the pair of shoes, the fishermen and the locals launched an operation in the reservoir to find the body of the missing youth.
The body of the youth has been found and the body has been sent to the Judicial Medical Officer of the Dickoya Base Hospital for postmortem examination, Norwood Police said.
