A woman was strangled to death in Ugarassapitiya area of Katugastota police domain, who was living alone in her house.
Police said that the murder was carried out yesterday afternoon (16) and a 76-year-old woman was killed. During the police investigation, it has been revealed that the woman’s limbs were tied and a piece of cloth was stuffed in her mouth, and the gold necklace worth Rs. 32,500 that she was wearing was also stolen.
Till now, the reason for the murder has not been revealed and the Katugastota Police are conducting further investigations to find the suspects.
