A gas stove exploded in a house in the Kottai area in Mannar, setting the whole house on fire.
The woman who lived in the house had prepared breakfast using the gas cylinder she had taken a few days ago and it was reported that the stove had exploded while preparing lunch.
The fire broke out and the woman came out of the house and sought the help of the villagers to put out the fire but the house was already completely destroyed.
The woman was admitted to the Mannar Hospital due to fainting while attempting to extinguish the fire and the police have arrived and are investigating the incident.
