It is reported that Theshara Jayasinghe, the Chairman of Litro has been removed from the post.
The importation and distribution of modified gases throughout the island has recently led to a number of gas related incidents including gas lip explosions being reported from various parts of the island.
He has also been criticized for not properly informing the public about this and for avoiding the media in the face of repeated questions from him.
Accordingly, it has been reported that Renuka Perera has been appointed to fill the vacancy left by Thishara Jayasinghe.
