President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa inspected the Litro Gas Terminal at Kerawalapitiya this morning (13).
The President visited the Terminal’s Operations Room and inspected the entire process from the ship to the landing and storage of gas.
Accordingly, the terminal has four storage tanks of 2,000 tons each and maintains a daily storage of 8,000 tons of gas.
Litro has a monthly supply of 30,000 tons of gas, bringing in seven ships a month.
Bowser trucks deliver gas to factories and fill cylinders at the Kerawalipitiya terminal.
The company says that Litro Gas is distributed nationwide by 42 dealers and 12,000 dealers, and that in the last few days, between 70,000 and 80,000 cylinders of gas have been delivered daily.
However, the company expects to be able to meet the current demand for Litro gas in the next few days.
Its Chairman Thushara Jayasinghe stated that an institute for operations and gas research at the Hambantota Terminal owned by Litro Gas will be established this year.
