President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa called on the Chief Prelates of Malwatta and Asgiriya yesterday (05) and received their blessings.
According to the Presidential Media Unit, the President first visited the Malwathu Maha Viharaya and received blessings from the Most Venerable Thibbatuwawe Sri Sumangala Thero.
The President was briefed on the steps taken by the President for the protection and preservation of historical sites of archaeological value.
Afterwards, the President visited the Asgiriya Maha Viharaya and received blessings from the Mahanayake Most Ven. Warakagoda Sri Gnanaratana Thera.
It is reported that the President then visited the Gedige Rajamaha Viharaya and paid a courtesy call on the Most Venerable Weruwe Upali Thero, the Anunayake of the Asgiriya Chapter.
