The government has decided to submit the recommendations of the Cabinet Sub-Committee on Teachers’ Salary Anomaly to teachers from next January.
Parliamentarian Sagara Kariyawasam stated that the government has decided to implement the proposals submitted by the Cabinet Sub Committee through this year’s budget as well.
Accordingly, the General Secretary of the Teachers’ Union Joseph Stalin stated that the government has agreed to pay the salary proposal submitted by the Committee of Ministers as part of the report of the Subodhani Committee.
The Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers Union Mahinda Jayasinghe stated,
“The leader of the slandering government teachers’ union today shamelessly dragged away a proposal and handed over a proposal saying that it would be implemented as a proposal of theirs. An earlier transcript was played in Parliament today.”
