Will new strains be out of control?
A top Chinese virologist has warned that new strains of the corona virus could emerge. According to the South China Morning Post, Xi Zhengli, known by some as the “Woman of the Bat”, said the world of the future must be prepared to live with a number of continuing Kovid species.
“As the number of infected patients has increased, it has given the new corona virus more room to mutate and select,” Xi said. She also warned that new varieties would continue to emerge. However, she stressed that vaccination is needed to survive the current outbreak of the virus.
