Sri Lanka’s exports of goods and services will earn US $ 15.1 billion by 2021, Trade Minister Bandula Gunawardena said.
The Minister also pointed out that this is an increase of 23% over the export income of US $ 12.34 billion in 2020.
For the first time in the history of the country, the country has earned US $ 12.5 billion in 2021, surpassing the US $ 12 billion mark earned from exports.
The Minister pointed out that this is an increase over the export target of 2021 as well as a growth of 24% compared to 2020.
Monthly trade export earnings have also crossed the $ 1 billion mark in the eight months to 2021.
Trade Minister Bandula Gunawardena further thanked the exporters for achieving the target of 20.1 billion US dollars in exports of goods and services by 2021.
